Where are you from? From the Danube?
2023, self-published, 56 pages, 13 x 18,5 cm, riso-printed, spiral binding, edition of 42
From 22nd of August until 17th of October 2021 I’ve been travelling the river Danube on board the research vessel MS-FUSION.
What if I become part of the flow? What if the land passes by – trees, cities, industrial areas, stretches of land, islands, history? What if I am between the banks, floating on the border? The publication “Where are you from? From the Danube?” shows views of the riverbanks, photographed from the shipping channel of the Danube, which come together to form a long, diverse, and yet continual line, that has no defined beginning.
After having travelled the Danube for 60 days from Austria to the Danube Delta, we stayed the first night in a pension in Tulcea. The lady of Pensiune Melisa welcomed us with the question “Where are you from? … from the Danube? It is nice, I went with my husband to Vienna – and you come here!”
